Inappropriate bahavior

Inappropriate behavior, consciously or unconsciously, occur in every organization. This may include bullying, aggression and violence, sexual harassment or discrimination. If you experience this, it is good to bring this up, because everyone is entitled to a healthy and safe working environment.

As an external confidential adviser, I am not part of the organization, but I do know the organization as well as the applicable procedures, rules and regulations.

The confidential adviser is there for support, guidance, input and information about possible next steps, formally or informally.

Integrity

Integrity issues, conscious or unconscious, can arise in any organization. Suspicions of wrongdoing can be reported confidentially to a confidential adviser. There is an abuse/integrity issue if the public interest is at stake. This may include violation of a statutory regulation, danger to public health, safety of persons, damage to the environment, or danger to the proper functioning of an organization.

The confidential adviser is there for support, for guidance, thinking along and informing about possible next steps, informally or formally by submitting a formal complaint.

Information and advice

Role of a confidential adviser

A confidential adviser is also trained to provide an organization with information about the role of a professional confidential adviser within the organization. In addition, the confidential adviser can advise on trends in reports and bottlenecks in the organization with regard to undesirable behaviour.

I was trained at Van Oss & Partners, certified and included in the list of national professional association of confidential advisors (LVV). The training of Van Oss and Partners is accredited by the LVV.
